When this is finished, quit and relaunch iTunes, and check the Advanced preferences to ensure that iTunes is looking in the correct location. If files have mysteriously disappeared, run a full scan of your computer with up-to-date antivirus software. (Or, if it’s on a network, connect to the network first.) Or, if your library is on an external drive, make sure the drive is connected to your computer before opening iTunes. If you don’t find songs by searching, check the Recycle Bin.
